Nutcracker Eligibility and Rehearsals

Littleton Ballet Academy students have the opportunity to perform in Littleton Youth Ballet's beautiful professionally presented production of The Nutcracker.  However, to be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:

Returning students

  • Must attend ballet class(es) eight of the twelve weeks of summer which is counted during the months of June, July, and August.  Attending two to four weeks of camp and taking the rest of the summer off does not qualify students for The Nutcracker.

  • Must have completed the 2023-2024 Academic Year in full.

  • HIGHLY recommended that students have attended at least one Littleton Youth Ballet production (The Nutcracker and/or a Storybook Ballet or Encore Performance production). 

  • Must be in Pre-Ballet 3 or higher, age 5 or older, or Ballet 1 and invited to audition or in Ballet 2, 3, or 4 (more advanced dancers may be part of LYB and will be eligible)

  • Must display a good work ethic, good respectful behavior, and be able to follow class directions.

  • Must attend the required number of classes within their level.

  • Parents must also be able to follow directions, read all the information sent out, and be able to refrain from gossiping or other bad behavior.

  • Must attend an audition in September.

New students​

  • Must be in Ballet 1 and invited to audition or in Ballet 2, 3, or 4 (more advanced dancers may be part of LYB)

  • Must display a good work ethic, good respectful behavior, and be able to follow class directions.

  • Parents must also be able to follow directions, read all the information sent out, and be able to refrain from gossiping or other bad behavior.

  • Must be invited to attend an audition in September.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals for our youngest children are on Saturday afternoons (Pre-Ballet to Ballet 4) sometime between 2:00 to 6:30 pm. A full schedule will be provided at a parent meeting once casting is complete. Rehearsals for some dancers Ballet 4 and higher may occur on Friday evenings, and our advanced dancers also rehearse on Tuesday evenings. No rehearsals are held on Sundays,

Auditions are scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd in the afternoon.
